When we come together for Mass, we form a holy people who come together to give thanks to God. Participation in liturgical ministries is vital to the life of our parish, for it is through different liturgical ministries that we serve each other and show our charity to one another during the celebration of Mass. Following is a list of the various liturgical ministries that one can participate in.

Altar Servers
This is a parish ministry for all boys and girls in grades 5 through high school who are interested in serving God and His people by helping the priest and community to worship God at Mass.
Members of this ministry will also be called upon to serve from time to time at weddings and funerals. Parental permission is required.
Contact John Summers at the Harte Center (398-4284) for more information.
Art and Environment
This is a “behind the scenes” group who helps prepare the church for the different seasons of the year and creates the special atmosphere that enhances the liturgical celebrations of our parish. If you are good with colors and have a knack for decorating, please call John Summers (398-4284) at the Harte Center. This ministry is open to individuals of all ages.
Coffee and Donuts
Various parish groups organize the coffee and donuts that are served following the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Masses on Sunday mornings in the church basement. Call Judy (397-9395) at the Harte Center for more information.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist
Extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist are distributors of the Precious Body and Blood of Christ. Training for this ministry takes place annually. Please call or email John (398-4284) at the Harte Center if you are interested in being notified of the next training.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the word of God and lead the faithful in praying the intercessions at Mass. If you have a strong, clear speaking voice and are comfortable in front of a large group of people, we encourage you to join this ministry. Lectors are scheduled to read every six to eight weeks. Anyone age 16 and older is welcome to become a lector. For more information, call or email John at 398-4284.
Sacristans
Sacristans assist the priest before Mass setting out the vessels, preparing the gifts for Communion, and making sure that other liturgical ministers have arrived. Following Mass, the sacristan purifies the vessels and puts things away. Any adult who is interested in being part of this ministry should contact John at 398-4284
Ushers
Ushers are an important part of the liturgy. They help parishioners find seats, help with any emergencies during Mass, find people to take up the Offertory gifts, and take up the collection. At the end of Mass, they distribute the bulletin and wish us well as we leave church. This is a wonderful ministry for the entire family. If you would like more information, please call John at 398-4284.
