A Vibrant Catholic Academic Community
Here are some quick facts about our school.
- Two sections each of grades K-8. Kindergarten is full-day.
- Our three- and four-year-old preschool program offers parents full-time and part-time student attendance options.
- Approximately five hundred students from three hundred and twenty five families.
- Sacramental preparation for both students and parents takes place for First Reconciliation and First Communion in second grade; Confirmation in 8th grade.
- State certified teachers, nurse and administrator.
- Illinois State Board of Education recognition.
- Diocese of Rockford recognition.
- All students study our Catholic religion, reading, math, social studies, science, language arts, physical education, music, art and computer technology. In addition, junior high students study health and Spanish.
- A resource program exists for students with special needs.
- Holy Family Catholic School is a Physical Fitness State Champion for the fourth year (2007-2008) in a row!
- Many extra and co-curricular activities are available to students. Check out the school activities button.
- Under the supervision of classroom teachers, teacher aides work with students. In addition, aides help supervise and perform clerical tasks for teachers.
- In 2009 our fifth- and eighth-grade students again scored above the national averages on the National Catholic Educational Association's Assessment of Catachesis Religious Education. This instrument measures fifth- and eighth-grade students' faith knowledge, beliefs, attitudes, practices and perceptions.
- The use of computers, Smartboards and other technology tools is infused into the school's curriculum. Computers, located in classrooms, the library, the computer lab, and on the wireless mobile laptop lab, are Internet filtered to protect our children.
