Briefly, I will list a few things we do in class.

We honor each student as "Student of the Week" in a special way.

We will have a morning snack time, about 10:15. Please
send a healthy snack. We will usually take a short recess time about
10:30.

We love to celebrate birthdays with non-messy treats

I will often send home a Friday letter with classroom news, announcements,
and reminders.

I will always send home on Mondays, a homework sheet for the
week that should be kept in the take home folder. This sheet must be
signed every night by an adult when homework is completed. You can write
notes to me on this sheet if you need to. Expect some homework every
night.

New spelling words will go home on Mondays.
We will have a practice quiz on Wednesdays. I will give two dictation
sentences every week. If you want spelling words to go home on Friday,
for the next week, let me know.

Your child will keep a daily calendar in his take home folder.
He/she will get a sticker or stamp everyday for good behavior. We will
use a Red, Yellow and Green Traffic Light Chart. All students begin
the day on "green", if I must give a student a warning about misbehavior,
he goes to "yellow". If I must address the misbehavior again, he goes
to "red", and does not get a sticker. I will jot on the calendar what
the problem was so you can discuss it at home. Those students who
get a sticker everyday during the month will get a small treat.

We do have special scheduled classes of Art, Music, P. E., Computer,
and Library.
Please call, write a note, or stop in after school if a question or problem
comes up. I ask Our Lord Jesus to be with us, as our Master Teacher,
opening our hearts as well as our minds to His guidance.
