Math
In fifth grade we will be reviewing a few key concepts
and taking part in quarterly fact testing. As the year progresses, the class
will be involved with many new concepts. The children should be taking their
math book or notes home every night, whether they have homework to finish or not.
Expectations for students:
- Be prepared for class.
- Have homework done.
- Ask a question when they are confused or unclear.
- Review concepts daily.
- Take notes in their math notebooks
We will be using the Accelerated Math program in class
as a way for all the students to work at their pace. They are to turn in one assignment a week. If they do more then one assignment they can choose which one they would like to turn in. If practice is needed,
time will be allotted. If progression to the next level is necessary, it
will be available. The class will have a few individualized tests based on
their ability level each quarter. Everyone will be able to do there best!
Homework Musts:
- All work must always be shown
- All work is to be done in pencil, pen will not be accepted.
- Homework is to be done on lose leaf paper.
- Word problems have to have a label in order to receive credit.
