Handwriting
The D'Nealian cursive
method is used exclusively throughout the curriculum. Third graders are
assigned daily handwriting exercises which strengthen basic letter formation.
Proper holding of writing instruments is taught and enforced. Pencil
is used solely for all written work until second semester when erasable
blue or black pen is introduced. Erasable pen is used for specific
work. Only pencil is used for math.
Daily handwriting exercises are used to strengthen penmanship skills and the worksheets include Scripture reference.
This article, Old
skill takes on new importance, is relevant to our philosophy.
