Students in second grade develop complex movement patterns.
They demonstrate improved perceptual motor skills.
They explore activities that lead to a healthy lifestyle.
The following skills are covered during the second grade year:

recognize safe and unsafe situations and practices.

listen and follow directions of teacher and student leaders.

understand basic movement concepts (personal space, boundary and
direction)

use locomotor skills in rhythmical patterns.

demonstrate smooth transitions between sequential motor skills.

cooperate effectively with partners or a team to achieve a specific
goal.

understand the importance of practice in learning new skills.
-
participates in activities that improve physical fitness.
-
engages in activities to handle and control objects of varying shapes
and sizes.
-
understands importance of playing, cooperating and respecting others.
