Standard Procedures
- All books will be stored under your desk during class
-
All work will be done in pencil (no erasable pen)
-
Once you are done with a test or a quiz you can read
a book or draw an appropriate picture. You will not be allowed
to do any homework
for other classes (including studying for a test or quiz).
This is to insure that every student is giving 100% in math and not rushing
through to do work for another class
-
Everyone will be expected to take notes, on a daily
basis, in a binder dedicated for math
-
If you are absent YOU are responsible to get notes from a
classmate.
-
If you need to go to your locker after class has begun, you will receive a parent notice for being unprepared for class.
Grading Percentages
Tests 40%
Quizzes & Projects 20%
Homework 30%
In-Class Assignments 10%
My Philosophy
I am from the old school when it comes to teaching math.
I believe that practice, practice, and more practice is the best way to
master this subject. I understand that many students struggle with
math; therefore I am available for help most mornings and afternoons to
help.
-
Miscellaneous
I do not give extra credit assignments. A
few times throughout the year I will have and extra credit problem on a
test or a quiz that is all. Please do not ask me if you can get extra
points.
I allow one make up test and three make up assignments (homework or in-class work) per quarter for grades. I expect all make up work to be turned in by the end of the quarter.
I am available for extra help the following days (subject
to change)
Morning hours are from 7:30 to 8:00
Afternoon hours are from 3:10 to 3:45
Monday mornings and every other afternoon (please see
school calendar for when I don't have a staff meeting)
Tuesday afternoons
Wednesday mornings
and afternoons
Thursday afternoons
Friday mornings and afternoons
