Starting with 6th Grade, the focus on technology use changes slightly. The focus is less on how to use computers and more on when to use them as a learning tool. Computer use is incorporated into subject area assignments. Some 6th grade objectives are:

• To use computers ethically and safely
• To understand the many uses for technology in society
• To be able to use basic software programs like word processing, database, spreadsheet, graphic design, and web page creation to complete academic assignments
• To create and present electronic presentations
• To effectively and efficiently use the Internet as a reference and research tool
• To use technology as a tool for problem-solving and decision-making
