GENERAL CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES:
English Class takes place on Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
We begin class by reviewing and
correcting the previous day’s homework. Quizzes will be given periodically.
These quizzes may or may not be announced.
A new lesson is then introduced,
followed by practice work. Practice exercises in the workbook are assigned
as well as reinforcement activities. All lessons are reviewed at the
end of each chapter, followed by a Chapter Mastery Test.
We go to the Computer Lab every Wednesday. We work on bibliographies, writing, and grammar. Any assignment given
for the lab needs to be done in the lab, so if a child is absent on a Wednesday,
he/she will have to make-up the work in the lab.
HOMEWORK:
Workbook pages and reinforcement
activities are assigned on a daily basis. Daily studying of the lessons
will be of great benefit when taking Chapter Mastery Tests. Because homework
is so important, the first LATE assignment will be marked down 10% each
day late. Any other late assignments during that same quarter will have a maximum score of 50%. After five school days any incomplete assignment will be a O.
EXPECTATIONS:
1. All work is to be neatly done
in blue or black ink. NO pencil is used in my class, except
when diagramming
2. Students must use the following
heading on their papers. The heading should start with the top line
of the paper.
| First and Last Name |
Date |
| 7A(or B) English |

|
Assignment (page

|
3. Questions should be answered
in complete sentences, punctuated, and have correct spelling. Cursive
is to be used, no printing.
4. Missed activities must be made
up.
5. If you are absent, YOU are responsible
to make sure you get your homework and what was done in class.
Often times green homework sheets do not get to the students.
6. If you do not come in for help
before the day of the test, you will not be allowed to come
in for help the day of the test. By then it is too late.
