Project Author

Project Author is a program at Holy Family where each student creates a book with the help of the teacher and parent volunteers. The purpose is to encourage creative writing and to develop artistic skills through illustrations.

All books are written with the assistance of a dictation volunteer. After books are written, teachers review them. We have volunteers to type up the book and proofreaders review the book. The book is sent back to the students to illustrate. When the book is illustrated, a binder will finish the book.

As you can see it takes several volunteers to make Project Author a success. We need volunteers to dictate, type, proofread, and bind the books. We also need people to make the book covers. Training is available for everything.

We plan to start the dictation process the last week in September. It will be over before Christmas.
