Read Below for an Overview of Volunteer Positions
When you volunteer through
Home and School, you not only help out our school, you increase your circle
of friends and strengthen the friendships you already have.
There is something for everyone
on the sign-up roster: big projects and small, one-time and ongoing ones.
Home and School mission is simple.
"Volunteers working together for
our school and our school children."
AT SCHOOL BOOSTERS
At school boosters
volunteer to help within school activities. These include:
- Project
Author dictators work with students in K-3 to help them write a
book on a specific topic.
- Library Aide duties include
interacting with students, checking books in and out, and reshelving
books.
- Supply Store volunteers work the supply cabinet located in the lobby of the school from 8-8:15
a.m.
- School Appreciation is assisting
with the back-to-school, Christmas, end-of-the-year luncheons for the
staff, along with birthdays and teacher appreciation (Catholic Schools
Week).
- SCRIP
needs strong organization & numbers skills (8-noon Monday, 1-2:55 p.m. Thursday).
- School functions include
serving and setting up refreshments at various events.
AT HOME BOOSTERS
At home boosters help with activities that can be completed at home. These
include:
- Project Author needs typist
to take the dictate books and type them up in a word processing program.
We then need proofreaders to check the typing. Students illustrate the
book and then it is returned to a volunteer to bind the completed book
in a book cover, which is another area volunteers are needed. Training
is provided for all volunteers.
- Library volunteers are needed
to do calligraphy for bookplates. All donations to the library are acknowledged
with a bookplate in the front of the book.
- Art volunteers are needed.
Mrs. Haas will contact you with specific duties and times.
- Welcome Committee is getting
started to help new families have a contact for questions.
- SCRIP runners are needed
to go to stores and pickup gift certificates.
FELLOWSHIP AND FUN
These are social events and other activates.
Some involve being available
during school hours and many do not.
