Fulfilling Our Mission!
Again in 2009, our fifth and eighth graders scored above the national average scores on the National Catholic Educational Association's Assessment of Catechetical Religious Education measuring religious knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions. The fifth and eighth grades are the only grades assessed.
For the fourth year (2007-08) in a row, our school is a Physical Fitness State Champion!
K-8 students participate in five fitness events. If they score in the 85%ile in all five they qualify for the Presidential Physical Fitness Award. Our school received the award because we had the greatest percentage of students of schools in our enrollment-size category (500+ students) that won the Presidential Physical Fitness Award. Eighty-two Holy Family students (16.4% of the school, K-8) achieved the award. Check out the President's Challenge website at: www.presidentschallenge.org
Walking Our Talk...
On Tuesday, October 13, 2009 all Holy Family students walked raising about $600 for the clients of The Carpenters Place. Carpenters Place is an in-town agency assisting the homeless with food, shelter, and job placement assistance.
